Display your solutions in the Expo
National Research Fund (NRF) seeks to host Innovators and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) during the second day of the hackathon (7th June 2024) at Safari Park Hotel to present their business solutions and innovations for free in the form of Expos.
You will be allocated a table, two seats and a standard tent to showcase your solutions / products. This is on a first come, first served basis.
Priority will also be given to SMEs already with a proven track record of innovation ICT / CyberSecurity.

The National Research Fund has organised this Hackathon in line with the objective of promoting CyberSecurity Research and Innovation in Kenya.
What is a Hackathon?
A hackathon is an event where individuals, usually programmers, come together to collaborate intensively on software projects within a short timeframes. During a hackathon, participants work on ideas, develop prototypes, or solve specific problems, typically with a focus on innovation and creativity.
NRF 2024 Hackathon
In this year's hackathon, the NRF's main focus is on promoting Cybersecurity Research and innovation. Competitors will showcase their skills and compete to win the different prizes offered in the hackathon.

Below are the order of events for the Hackathon
Hackers are expected to arrive and complete the necessary registration tasks. Group registration and account provision will be done at this stage.
Hackathon is officialy started, competitions commence and the groups get to tackle the first set of challenges against each other.
The height of the competition. Stakes are raised and the challenges are increased in difficulty. Overnight grit is achieved.
Teammates are expected to finalize on their innovation/coding projects as described in the hackathon
Presentations of the final projects will be done by all teams and graded at this juncture.
Awards are presented to the respective winning teams after the stretch of competitions, challenges and presentations
