NRF Celebrates Pi (π) Day by Supporting STEM Innovation at Daystar University

The National Research Fund (NRF) proudly joined the Pi (π) Day celebrations by sponsoring and participating in the International Pi Day, held on March 15, 2025, at Daystar University. Organized in collaboration with the Scientists of Kenya Association (SCOKA) and endorsed by the Ministry of Education, the event highlighted the importance of mathematics and STEM disciplines in driving innovation and problem-solving.

Bringing together over 2,000 high school students from across Kenya, the competition provided a platform for young minds to showcase their skills in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Studies. As part of the event, students engaged in problem-solving challenges, innovative projects, and tech demonstrations, with notable presentations in robotics, artificial intelligence, and software development.

NRF’s presence at the Pi Day reinforced its dedication to supporting research and innovation. At the exhibition booth, NRF representatives engaged with students and educators, offering insights into research funding opportunities, innovation grants, and academic collaborations.

Through initiatives like this, NRF continues to empower young innovators, inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, and problem-solvers who will shape Kenya’s future.
